Thomas R. Carey maintains that his "indentured boy," Jerry Mathews, ran away and was captured near Annapolis "on the Annapolis Rail Road." Thomas Chaney returned Mathews to Carey and charged him $10. Carey asks the court to extend Mathews's term of service as compensation, and grant him "the prividge of selling said boy in the State of Maryland."
