Abstract
Thomas Baldwin declares that Joseph Downs, his "free negro apprentice," has run away from his service twice. Baldwin went to "considerable trouble as well as expense each time recapturing him." The petitioner asks that Downs's term of service be extended to cover his "loss of time and Court Charges & expenses."
