Lofland, he "took up with" a slave named Amanda Johnson, who at the time belonged to Emily Wood.  Robinson and Johnson "had a sort of wedding after the fashion of negroes, &amp; went through the forms of marriage."  Around March 1866, Robinson heard that Emily had committed adultery with a freedman named Beverly Monroe.
