[First document] Nathaniel Brashears of Washington City in the District of Columbia, for\n$5.00, sells to William Lambe le and Thomas Allen both of the same place, three Negro slaves:\nHannah, Julian and Violet. Signed on 3 June 18 I 6 by Nathaniel Brashears.\n[Second document] Samuel N. Smallwood, a Justice of the Peace for Washington Co., states he\nhas been appointed by William Lambe le and Thomas Allen to make a division of the Negroes\nbrought from Nathaniel Brashears -- as stated in the above bill of sale -- including a Negro boy\nnamed Robert, a son of Hannah born since the above purchase was made. It is decided that\nJulian and Robert will go to William Lambele, and Hannah and her daughter Violet will go to\nThomas Allen who pays William Lambele $25 and permits Hannah to provide and care for\nRobert for 12 months from this day.
