At the request of John Cox the bill of sale was recorded on 20 June 1801. John Threlkeld of the District of Columbia sold a Negro boy named Frank about 19 years old to John Cox, a merchant of the District of Columbia for $300. It is also stated that Frank is "a slave for life and in no manner entitled to freedom and he is sound and healthy..." Signed on 5 June 1801 by John Threlkeld.
