Know all men by these presents that I, Edward Sims of the State of North Carolina, Guilford County, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to one in hand laid by Leven Aydelott of the County and State aforesaid hath bargained, sold, and delivered unto the Leven Aydelott a negroe boy names Tansom aged eighteen months old and I, Edward Sims aforesaid doth obligated myself, my heirs and executors administrators and assigns to warrant from all persons and for ever defend the above named negroe boy to the only and proper uses and behoof of the aforementioned Leven Aydelott, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns for ever as witness hereunto I have set my hand and seal this fifth day of October 1808.
