Know all men by these presents that I James Campbell of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina for and in Consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Twenty-five Dollars to me in hand paid by Peter Hufman of the County of Guilford and State afs. [aforesaid] have Bargained Sold and Delivered a Certain Negroe Girl by the Name of Amy about Eighteen years old afs. [aforesaid] and by these presents do Bargain Sell and Deliver unto the Sd. [said] Peter Hufman for his uses for ever. I the Sd. [said] James Campbell will Warrant and for ever Defend the Right of Title of Sd. [said] Negroe grown myself my heirs Executors administrators and from every other person or persons Claiming or to Claim and I the Sd. [said] James Campbell will Warrant the Sd. [said] Negroe girl Amy to be a healthy Sound Negroe In witness whare of I the Sd. [said] James Campbell have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this 29th of [February] Eighteen hundred and twelve.
