RAN away from the subscriber, a negro fellow named LUKE; he is about twenty-six years old, nearly six feet high, spare made. He had on when he went away a homespun shirt and trowsers, and coarse green cloth jacket. He is country born, and had once been let free, but the manumission being illegal, he was sold anew. It is supposed he will endevaour to pass for a freeman and go towards Beaufort. A reward of five pounds will be paid to any person who will secure said fellow so that I get him again, or on his being delivered to me on Trent river, near Newbern. JERE.[Jeremiah] PARSONS.
