$25 REWARD,

$25 REWARD, RANAWAY IN THE LATTER PART OF January last, a negro man named SAM WILKINGS, alias SAM MERRICK, about 22 years of age, very black, spare built, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, has a down look when spoken to. Hasbeen[sic] seen in the counties of Onslow, Duplin and Wayne, where he has been exhibiting a forged permission to work around, purporting to be signed by the subscriber, or by S. R. Bunting. He is a bricklayer and a plasterer. The above reward will be given for the return of said negro or for his lodgement in any jail in the State, so that I can get him, and a further reward of $50 for proof sufficient to convict any free person, white or colored, of harboring said negro, or furnishing him with forged pass or passes.
