Ran Away About the middle of June 1829, a negro man, named ALLEN, a shoe and boot maker by trade, and a pretty good plantation hand, supposed to be about 5 feet 8 inches high, yellow complexion, with a small scar, believed to be under his right eye. Also a negro woman, named ABBY, about 5 feet and from 5 to 7 inches high, a bold spoken woman, and brown complxion[sic], with a large scar on her forehead supposed to be burnt when young, with two male children, the oldest called Jim, but some times called Bint; the youngest not named, but talked of calling his name Ben. Allen the property of Patrick Hamilton; Abby and the two children the property of Henry Jinkins. The above negroes are supposed to have taken off by some speculator, or to be passing under some free papers improperly obtained. Any person who will apprehend and commit said negroes to any Jail, and give the subscriber information, living in Williamsborough, N.C. shall receive the sum of fifty dollars, or if delivered to me in this place, the sum of one hundred dollars.
