One hundred and five citizens of Delaware "respectfully beg leave to express their assent to the positions contained in the Memorial of the Wilmington Union Colonization Society and their conviction of the great importance of the subject." The petitioners are "confident, that there are few subjects in which the present generation has a deeper interest, or which more urgently demands the attention of our statesmen."
