Sarah Hudson of Sussex County, Delaware, represents "that she is the owner of a certain negro Girl called Mary who is now in the State of Maryland, and that she is desirous to bring her into this State for the purposes of her own employment without affecting her property in the said Mary." Hudson therefore prays that a law be passed "to enable her to bring into this State from the State of Maryland the said negro Slave."
