Abstract
John Thomson seeks to emancipate his slave Cato Buck, who "by his own industry and economy has saved sufficient money to pay & satisfy his owner for his time and services." Thomson states that Cato has paid and satisfied the whole amount of money demanded from him, he is therefore entitled to his freedom, which he has well earned through industry and fidelity.
