Abstract
Robert McFaddin seeks compensation for his slave, Sharper, who was convicted of rape but died in jail previous to "the time assigned for his execution." McFaddin, thusly "deprived of a Valuable property," prays that he be granted "such compensation in the premises as you will in your wisdom seem Just and equitable."
