William Mason seeks compensation for his "mulatto" slave, Ellick, who was tried, convicted, and executed "for stealing taking & carrying away the goods of John P. Cook of the value of thirty dollars" and "for stealing taking & carrying away the goods of William Kincaid of the value of one hundred dollars."
