Abstract
Michael Sulton represents that he was "the owner of a negro man named June who was charged with the crime of Rape on a white woman." He further states that said slave was "found guilty of said charge & sentence of Death pronounced on him." Noting that "June was executed on the 15th of January 1830," Sulton prays that he be allowed "such compensation as your honorable body may deem meet." The court "appraised and Valued" June at $122.45.
