Abstract

Twenty-four citizens ask that Allen Williams, a free person of color of "good moral Character," be "entitled to the benefit of his own oath in proving his accounts; and be entitled to vote at Election for his company and field officers and such other privileges as in your wisdom may seem prudent." Williams, "by profession a Blacksmith," has "sustained some serious losses in the line of his profession."

Result: Referred to committee of propositions and grievances: "unreasonable".
