They report that "Daniel was brought to the county from Mexico, in Peonage, by a Mr. Joseph L. Gould”; when Gould died, Daniel was placed under the guardianship of Dr. T. M. Anderson, the administrator of Gould's estate.  The residents concur that Daniel is a "well behaved industrious man &amp; he is desirous of remaining in the state under his present Guardian."
