Nathaniel Henderson lost a "valuable negro" during a battle against American Indians at Fort Boon in Kentucky County on 11 September 1778. The slave was ordered to take a gun, post himself to guard the fort, and "fire on the Indians which he accordingly did and was kill'd." The owner seeks compensation for the value of the slave.
