Thomas Fristoe owns a slave who is currently in the state of Kentucky. Fristoe acquired the slave through his wife, to whom it was "devised" by her father. The latter had removed to Kentucky "some years since." Fristoe claims to have "a particular regard & affection" for the "negroe Boy named Lewis," and he seeks permission to bring him into Virginia.
