Joseph Kennerley informs the legislature that he owns a slave whose wife and children are owned by William Hansard, in Tennessee. Hansard, meanwhile, owns a young slave named George, whose mother is owned by Kennerley. The two white men have agreed to an exchange so "that the said Negroes may be accommodated." Kennerley requests permission to bring George into Virginia.
Result: Referred to slave committee, reasonable.
