In 1812, William T. Pennington sent Martha Pennington, who is insane, to live with her mother Elizabeth Mason. He also sent along a "Negro lad to Asist her in living." In 1823, the mother sent her lunatic daughter back, and William commits her to a hospital. He notes that he has raised and educated Martha's four children, and asks for the legislature to pay him for his services.
Result: Rejected.
