The Powhatan County auxiliary of the American Colonization Society, through its president and secretary, asks the legislature to assist in prosecuting its plan to colonize free people of color in Africa. They request that the "whole subject of African Colonization be brought fully before the Legislature," examined, and "decided on according to its merits."
