Abstract

Isaac Medley Sr. attests that Philip Vass "was the owner of the petitioners" and that “he has never heard any charge against them of dishonesty or bad behavour, that Jacob has lived with him about eight years, that he considers him an honest man orderly and well behaved." Related documents reveal that the court ruled that Jacob, Mary, Sam, Meriweather, Patsy and Matilda "were emancipated by the Will of Philip E Vass deceased."
