"The petition of Owen Disney, humbly represents, that he is a surety of A J Phelps & nelson Phelps Adms of Richard Phelps deceased. That some of the slaves of the said Richard Phelps which were in the possession of the A J Phelps have been returned by Mary Phelps as administratrix of the said A J Phelps as a part of his estate, viz, George Robert and Emily & that they have been advertized for sale on the fifth of May next Your petitioner prays that the said negro slaves may be struck off from the said inventory & that the said sale may be stopped."
