Peter B. Martin, administrator of the estate of Mary Ann Owings, deceased, previously requested permission to sell a number of slaves. He has now been informed that two of the slaves, Bob and Dave, are mortgaged, and six others--Sally, Mary, Betsy, Young Nancy, Little Morris, and Little Toney--were conveyed to Mary Ann Hammock in a deed of gift. Martin asks if it is proper to sell Bob and Dave, and requests that Sally and the others be excluded from the property "belonging to the estate of said decd."
Result: Granted.
