W. E. Beaird, administrator of the estate of Robert T. English, deceased, and guardian of the estate of Alexander E. English, a minor heir, asks to sell some of the estate's slaves to pay eight or ten thousand dollars in debt. By keeping the other slaves, the land, "mules, farming utensils, & implements" together, "he can still keep up the plantation for the benefit of his ward."
