The heirs of the late Isaac Cates Sr. dispute the distribution of his estate and ask the court to intervene. Following Cates's death, John Blakeley and Peter Johnson and Isaac Cates, administrators of the estate, recklessly sold off portions of the estate, including slaves, in order to pay debts, say the heirs. All debts and claims against the estate have been settled and the petitioners ask the court to sell the rest of the estate and divide the proceeds.
