Abstract

Esther and Elijah Adams, free black children under the age of twenty-one, charge that they were illegally bound to Ennalls Adams in 1809 "without the assent of their father the said James Adams." Currently in the possession of Leak Robinson, the petitioners ask that they "may be discharged from the said Indenture."
