Austin Tomlinson seeks satisfaction from "a certain colored Boy named Jesse Crabbin indented to serve him" in 1812 for the term of eleven years. Tomlinson asserts that Crabbin has "absented himself" for extended periods, noting that Crabbin ran away in July 1815, remained out until May 1817, and then left in June 1819 "after which he never returned." The petitioner asks that Crabbin "may be adjudged to make satisfaction by servitude for the said absenting himself."
