Abstract
Andrew Villard seeks to settle a dispute with John Darby regarding compensation for a male slave, James, whom Villard sold to Darby for the sum of ninety-six pounds. James died shortly after the sale. Consequently, Darby brought suit against Villard. Villard prays for an injunction to prevent further proceedings until the matter is settled.
