- Salutation: To the Honorable Dillon Jordan Judge of the Superior Court of said Territory District of West Florida
Abstract
In a supplemental bill to her divorce petition filed 24 September 1838, Margaret Garner brings new information to the court concerning her situation. The petitioner now alleges that her husband, Thomas Garner, is "about to remove himself or his property out of said Territory with a view ... of depriving her of her alimony to which she may be entitled," noting that he "intends to remove or sell his slaves for said purpose and with said views." The petitioner asks for an injunction "against said Thomas or his property and make such order or decree as will secure her the wife of said Thomas her Alimony."
