John Davis, administrator of the estate of Elizabeth Harvey, avers "that there are few or no debts due by the Estate of which he is administrator, but that it will be impossible to have a fair equal and beneficial division of the slaves without a Sale thereof." He notes that there are seven slaves in said estate, "of which three are under six years of age besides which the children are all the issue of one woman Cherry and it would not only be unjust but inhuman to part children of such tender years from their mother." Citing that there are five heirs, Davis prays that "he be authorized to sell said slaves" in order "to effect a division" thereof among said heirs.
