Greene Johnson and Norman Scott, in right of their wives, sue John M. and Rebecca Parrott Brown, administrators, and the minor heirs of the late William Parrott for their distributive shares of Parrott's estate. The plaintiffs state that their wives are Parrott's daughters by his first wife. They also assert that Rebecca’s dower interest “in the said estate was allotted to her and received by her” and that a sale of the slaves and property of the estate is necessary to allow for an equal division among the heirs. They therefore pray it be decreed "that the said land and slaves shall be sold at public sale to the highest bidder and the proceeds of said sale be divided in equal parts between the said distributees."
