Eliza A. Bruce is the administratrix of the estate of Henry B. Fitts, her late husband. At the "advice of counsel," she sold the personal property of the estate at public auction, but needing the property "for the maintenance and accommodation of her family," she directed the auctioneer to bid in his own name on her behalf. She then assumed the payment of all claims against the estate, and after they were paid, applied for her final discharge from the administration of the estate in the year 1847. This application was refused, and she now asks the court for a final disposition of her case.
