William W. Moore and other heirs of Archibald Bouie ask that the court order Richard Saunders to sell the slaves of the estate and divide the proceeds equally among the heirs. Further, the widow, Ann Bouie, petitions for a child's portion "in lieu of her dower." The plaintiffs state that Archibald Bouie died intestate and that Sheriff Saunders was appointed administrator of the estate. They charge that Saunders has collected "a part of the value of the said boy Leon," one of the slaves of the estate, which should also be considered in the division.
