Benjamin Few presents that he purchased a female slave named Rachel, and her child, from the estate of the late William Sherrell. He claims, however, that Rachel and her child "came to the hands & possession of Benjamin Porter" through a fraudulent contract with one of Sherrell's heirs. Since this transaction, "several children," whose names and number Few does not offer, have been born to Rachel. Few believes that he is entitled to the slaves and he asks that this case be settled on his behalf.
