Abstract
Daniel Sturges claims that he owns ten slaves whom he "casually lost" and who have now come into the possession of one John Lewis. Sturges contends that he has requested that the slaves be returned to him, but Lewis has "converted and disposed of the said Ten last mentioned negro slaves." Sturges seeks $6,000 in compensation.
