Abstract
William Brewer was the owner of a slave named Willis, deemed to have a $400 value. Brewer lost the slave, who came into the possession of Robert Echols. Brewer alleges that Echols knew that Willis was his property, but intending to "injure and defraud" him, "converted" the slave "to his own use to the damage of your Petitioner eight hundred Dollars."
Result: Dismissed.
