Peter Ward and John J. Jenkins, practicing medicine under the firm of Ward and Jenkins, allege that Thomas Savage, administrator of the late George Mifflin's estate, "detains from your Petitioners the sum of one hundred and Eighty one dollars," excluding interest. Ward writes that he provided services and medicines "in and about the healing and curing of the diseases of the Negroes of the Said George," and claims that the administrator refuses to settle the account. The plaintiffs ask for intervention on their behalf.
