Abstract
Martha Woodard is the administratrix of Henry Woodard's estate, which includes a slave named Toney valued at $400. Martha claims that Toney was "casually lost" and that he "came to the hands & possession of William Gill by finding." Woodard contends that Gill knew that the slave was the property of the estate, but he has maintained use of the slave. She sues for $800 in damages.
