Patrick Sessoms and James Young claim that David Holms owes $100 to them. On 5 July 1811, a slave from Holms's plantation was "inveigled off, and feloniously taken and carried away, by captors or persons unknown." Holms offered a $100 reward for the captor's apprehension, and the plaintiffs did apprehend a George Broxton and lodged him in the Chatham County jail. Broxton was convicted of taking Holms's slave, and Holms promised to pay Sessoms and Young the reward money. However, Holms has not fulfilled this obligation. Sessoms and Holms claim $200 in damages.
