Abstract
Isaac Motley alleges that John Alford has defrauded him of $2,000. He owned two slaves, valued at $1,000, but he "casually lost" them and they ended up in the possession of Alford "by finding." Motley alleges that Alford knew that the slaves belonged to him, but he "Converted and Disposed of the said negroes to his own use." He sues for damages.
Result: Dismissed.
