Abstract

Charles O. Scriven is the administrator of Charles Oddingsells's estate, which included sixty-nine slaves, inventoried and individually appraised. Scriven's health, however, is poor, and he is under the care of a physician. He states that he is no longer able to attend to his duties as administrator, and he asks the court to discharge him from these responsibilities.
