Abstract

John Cundiff contends that Thomas H. Eidson is indebted to him for $90, excluding interest. The debt was incurred for the hire of a slave named Joe. Eidson signed a promissory note in April and promised to pay in December. Moreover, the defendant was to furnish Joe with clothes and shoes, and to pay the taxes on the slave. Cundiff contends that Eidson has not honored this financial obligation. He sues for $200 in damages.
