Abstract
William F. Bridges claims that he was the owner of a male slave named Jeff valued at $1,500. He contends that he "casually lost" the slave, who came into the possession of Green Hill. Bridges alleges that, although Hill knew that the slave belonged to him, he did not return him and but did instead "convert said negro to his own use." Bridges sues for $2,000 in damages.
