Petition #20682110

Abstract

James Young and David Anderson are the executors of William Cox's estate. In this capacity, they possessed five slaves in 1817, valued at $5,000 collectively. They claim that they "casually lost" the slaves, and the latter were found in Joshua Bostick's possession. They claim that Bostick knew that the slaves belonged to the estate, but did not return them. Rather, Bostick "did Convert [the slaves] to his own use." Young and Anderson sue for $5,000 in damages.
