Francis Kimbrough joins John, George, and Beverly Slaughter in stating that they were possessed of a slave named Elisha, valued at $1,000. They report that they "casually lost" the slave, who came into the possession of Ezekiel Brown. The petitioners claim that Brown knew that the slave belonged to them, but that with intent to deceive them, Brown "converted and disposed of the said Negro to his own use." The petitioners claim damages of $1,200 and ask that Brown answer their action of trover and conversion at the next Superior Court session.
