Petition #20682512

Abstract

James P. Carrethurs, as the administrator of Solomon Sutton's estate, possessed a family of four slaves valued at $1,500, collectively. He "casually lost" the slaves, who came into the possession of Allen Perry. Carrethurs alleges that Perry knew that the slaves belonged to him, but that with intent to "deceive and defraud," Perry "converted and disposed of the said four negro Slaves to his own use." He claims $1,500 in damages.
