Abstract
John Greene, as trustee for Elizabeth Walker, held nine slaves, valued at $3,000. Greene acknowledges that he "casually lost" said slaves, who came into the possession of Thomas G. Walker. Alleging that Walker knew that the slaves "to be the property of your petitioner as trustee," Greene charges that the defendant, with intent to defraud, "converted and disposed of the said negroes to his own use." The petitioner claims damages of $6,000 and asks that Walker appear at the next Superior Court session to answer his action of trover and conversion.
